Day 44.

Picture of the dog again.  This one’s for my sister, I know how much she misses him.  So here he is in full on gormless mode.  I don’t take many photos of him as he’s not a big fan of my camera, I don’t think he likes the noise or the way it hides my face, but trust me, when he’s not being photographed he is very photogenic.

Day 42.

I’ve always been fascinated by graffiti in places of outstanding beauty.  I swear if we ever make it to the end of the universe someone’s going to scrawl ‘Gavin was here’ in stars across the sky.

Days 38 and 39.

Watching the first part of the race in the castle grounds.  Tomorrow it will all be coming right past our window!

Currently having a mini holiday and enjoying the hospitality and creativity of the Knaresborough people during Le Tour Yorkshire.

Days 36 and 37.

Second card from my sister.  Inviting me to watch the Tour De France from her flat window, it’s going to go right past.  I’m not really into cycling, but front row seats to a big event like that and a weekend with my sister?  Wouldn’t miss it for the world.  She made this gorgeous little card.  As my college art tutor would say ‘Look at that cheeky bit of red!’.

First card from my sister (she didn't make this one but its lovely none the less).  She’s very into card’s puts me to shame, sometimes she’d start writing her thank you cards on boxing day.  It was a good year if I got mine done by Easter.

Day 35.

Had an altercation with a dress I was trying on.  The dress won.

Day 34.

Beautiful sunny flowers and chocolates from the boyfriend.  Very sweet :-)

Days 30, 31, 32 and 33.

Late afternoon visit to Creswell Crags.

Next weekend two of my friends are going to undertake the London to Paris, 24 hour, bike ride. They are both bonkers, but they are doing it to raise money for the charity Scope, which aids disabled children, so mad as they may be, their hearts are in the right place. Anyway, I thought they could do with their very own cheerleader.

My orchid lives!!

My friends wedding invitation!

Day 27.

A very dear friend and neighbour of mine died last summer.  Her house has not been sold yet and the garden she was once so proud of is becoming wild and full of uncultivated colour and life.  It’s truly beautiful.

Day 24.

Fuchsia.  I was obsessed with these colours when I was little.

Day 23.

That nettle is on top of our shed roof.  Pretty sure there’s no point in being a nettle if you’re on a roof.

Day's 21 and 22.

I visited Martha’s Vineyard last summer, it was my first time in America, my first time outside of Europe.  I loved that little island.

I used to stand next to this wall while I waited for the school bus, the flowers have been cut back in the years since, it used to be one great, cascading wall of pink.

Day 18.

My favourite rose, Anna Ford, starts of orange and fades in to pink, we keep it in a deep blue pot and it looks amazing!

Day 17.

My cousins 3 year olds Frozen cake, at her Frozen party, where everything was Frozen.  In the height of summer.  BECAUSE YOU CAN'T ESCAPE THAT FILM!

Day 16.

Granny showed me this, she couldn’t remember when exactly she was given it, but it’s been typed up on a typewriter, so it must have been a while ago.  Says a lot about my grandparents that my granny found it funnier than my grandpa.  But after all, she was a nurse.

Day 15.

Second day in the new job, slightly less demoralising, I feel like I’ve won several small victories.  What’s even better is coming home to a very pretty little vase of flowers that mum had arranged in my room to make me feel better.  I then knew exactly what my photograph for today was going to be.

Tuesday, 10 June 2014

Day 14.

Started a new job today, now feeling tired and demoralised, the general public and minimum wage will do that to a person.  So here’s a picture of an anglepoise with a paper hat on.  (note. The anglepoise does not always wear a hat, that would be silly, it just wanted to be a princess today)

Day 12.

View from Pizza Express today.  (This is before the havens opened and I spent the afternoon bailing out my garden and comforting my dog.)

Thursday, 5 June 2014

Day 9.

This is Loco, we have no idea what he is, a bit staffie, a bit lab, a bit dragon and a lot optimistic.  You couldn’t ask for a more petulant, smellier, weirdly proportioned, cantankerous dog.  But we love him.  Apparently someone else didn’t as he’s a rescue, but it’s their loss.

Day 4.

Granny’s house.

It’s a little after midnight, but I've not slept yet so it’s still day 4.

(Though apparently I’ve gone back in time!  For some reason my blog thinks I posted it on 31st May at 16:25, despite the fact that it’s now 00:30 and the 1st of June... I’m not complaining, just weird)

Friday, 30 May 2014

Day 3.

I love flowers, but I have four definite favourites.  This is Honesty.  Its entire cycle is beautiful, from delicate purple flower, into purple, green early seedpod and finally into translucent, coin like, spent seedpod.  To be honest the latter is my favourite stage, when the sun light shines through them like little pearlescent windows.  But more on that later in the year, right now it’s the transition between flowers and pods.

Day 2.

Look who arrived this morning! My beautiful little Tiny Acorn from Jo Lucksted Ceramics.  I’ve wanted a piece of this artist lovely work for ages and now I have one!  Sadly I’m only allowed to have her out for just long enough to take this photo and now she’s getting all wrapped up and put safely away for my birthday... in November...

Day 1.

First time I've done one of these, not a lot of finesse, but I might use the concept again in the future.
